As we conduct our work across the globe, APCO Worldwide strives to be a responsible corporate citizen, a steward of the environment, a reliable contributor to the local economy and the employer of choice in our industry. This is integral to how we live up to APCO's vision and values and ensure these continue to serve APCO's current and future employees.

APCO Worldwide's Environment Policy

We are committed to responsible stewardship of our environmental footprint. As a professional services firm, this applies primarily to our office operations and business travel.

Our global policy focuses on applying the principles of reduce, reuse and recycle in the workplace; using a green-office checklist; and tracking and reporting our performance. In 2010 APCO launched a pilot program to analyze our carbon footprint, to guide the development of our measurement tools and reduction/offset strategy.

APCO Worldwide's Partnerships

In 2008 APCO joined the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI), making a Commitment to Action to assist the CGI and its members in publicizing the impact of their commitments. As part of our CGI Commitment to Action, APCO provides communication counsel, training and media relations support for CGI annual meetings.

APCO works in partnership with a number of other global organizations, including the International Crisis Group, the International Business Leadership Forum and Business in the Community International. APCO is also a member of the United Nations Global Compact.

APCO Gives Back Program

Our people are our greatest asset, and we know they want to work for a company that supports them in sharing their time, expertise and passion with their communities. In turn, we are able to recruit and retain the best people, provide additional skill-development opportunities and enhance our own local and global community connections.

Through APCO Gives Back, the company provides time and other resources for individual and group volunteerism, pro bono service, and humanitarian and disaster response. The program is supported by written guidelines and APCO Gives Back coordinators. We assess and report on the program's internal and external impact on an annual basis.
